A story about a boy that gets left behind and wrapped up in more than he can handle. --------- Drowning, I'm drowning... My head goes underwater for one last time, and my final breath floats to the surface. I don't bother screaming. I'm alone, and nobody will hear me this far underground. If they could, it would be impossible underwater. I knew this mission would be dangerous, and now I'm paying the price for my recklessness; the cost is death. If I weren't careless with my life, if I'd left with my brother... I would have lived. But now I'll be free, at last I'll be safe from my mother's wrath and my father's rage.

"Mean it." - Do you ever feel like drowning so long it doesn't feel right to come up? That it's just normal to be underwater? Liam, peering his eyes up from the water, contemplated. "This just feels like yesterday" he thought. He had recently moved into his flat, the fresh whiff of freedom felt sharp in his lungs yet he could breathe. He could finally breathe. The life he's dreamed of, the future he craved, everything felt in place, everything was going according to plan. Or so he thought. He thought he had it all figured out, he thought he had it all planned. He knew, he knew he had everything settled. But fate had other plans. His past had a way of haunting him. History, in a person so devastatingly evil, he couldn't move just thinking about them. He's been followed, but something's off. Way off. An ex? No, certainly not. But they might just be Liam's greatest downturn. Or his biggest risk.
