A snake and a rabbit were making their way through the forest when they collided at a crossroads. Both immediately began to blame each other for the accident.
The snake insisted that, as a blindworm, it had been blind since birth.
Therefore, it always had the right of way - or so it thought.
However, the rabbit had also been blind since birth.
The two animals were amazed. A fellow sufferer! Someone who understands me!
They forgot about the collision and talked to each other about their experiences of being blind.
The snake said with regret that her biggest problem was that she had no identity.
She had never seen her reflection, she didn't even know what kind of animal she was.
The rabbit had exactly the same problem. So the two decided to feel each other and describe what the other was and what it looked like.
The snake wrapped itself around the rabbit and after a short time said, "You have very soft, fluffy fur, long ears, long hind legs, and a small fluffy tail.
I think you're a rabbit!"
The rabbit was relieved to finally know what he was and now felt the snake's body.
After a few minutes, he said, "You're scaly, slimy, have small eyes, you wriggle and crawl all the time, and you have a forked tongue. I think you're -- a lawyer!"
