Glenn Winnow had only known pain since as long as she could remember, no family, no friends, just experiments. And when those experiments failed, she was cut off from the rest of the world until she was found and taken in by Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff. She had finally had a home, a family, and a purpose for what she felt was a curse. However, when the world seems doomed, and she loses not only Nat but also Steve by the time they came out the other side of the war, she is hopeless again.
All that she had left was Bucky Barnes, who swore to care for her after Steve left. However, the world is in shambles, and so is Glenn. She finds no purpose in life until Bucky sends her on a mission to take in five of Valentina Allegra Fontaines agents, a simple mission before she ends her hero career forever.
But the mission becomes much longer than anticipated, and she finds in it the possibility for another family. Their threat is perfectly catered to Glenn's powers, and she's likely the only one who can save them, the city, and the world.
