I don't know how it happened, I don't know where it began and I don't know when it ends. We met on an app, we were never meant to be such close friends, but we were, maybe even more. We grew close, yet we were strangers at the same time. You were my shoulder to cry on even though you were rarely there physically. I told you my secrets, but I was so caught up in the thought of finally having someone there for me that I never realized the fact that you never told me yours. When we first met we were inseparable. We weren't meant to be more than just acquaintances, but somehow, we grew closer and I got attached. I tried to stay away, I tried to keep my distance, but I was clouded by the fact that I wanted- needed a friend. The walls I spent so long building up, you knocked them down so easily, that it looked almost effortless. I fooled myself into thinking that you would always be there, that you were different from everyone else, that you wouldn't leave like them, that you wouldn't drop me like I was nothing. Foolish girl. We grew closer, I got attached and somewhere along the way, I fell in love. You never loved me the way you loved her, did you? Was I just a broken toy you wished to fix? Did you pity me, the lonely girl that barely survived the world? Why did you leave? I wake up one morning and you're gone. Gone from my life, from my mind, from my memory. Please tell me why. Love ,what's it?Is it the butterflies in your stomach?The sparkles?The shivers in your spine?The passion in your kiss?The red heat in your cheeks?The reason why your heart beats?The satisfaction of life or urge to live more?Is his smile enough for me to know that everything's fine? I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain imaginable; and as the hands that were around my neck were forcibly ripped off by some unknown force, I slipped deeper into the depths of the river. My hair was straight above me along with my arms. My eyes were open and the water burned. A darkness started to pull me under, taking the pain away. Bliss. Delight. Contentment. Euphoria. Elation. Joy. Glee. Felicity. Jubilation. These are all words synonymous to the word happiness. But what is true happiness? Well then, I am utterly and completely drunk. When you're happy, everything feels amazing. Even small insignificant things like getting up in the morning. The golden hue of sunlight streaming in through the curtains feels like a soft caress from the hand of a lover. The birds seem to chirp sweetly outside, a melody to which the leaves sway as if mesmerised by their music. The curtains tango with the wind beautifully. Every little thing seems perfect. And that's a word I'd use to describe my life. Perfect. To give you a little introduction about me, let me start by explaining the most important aspects of my life. I have a loving family. There's my sarcastic, yet surprisingly sweet brother, my beautiful mother (both in looks and spirit) and my stern, yet humorous father.
