THE SOUNDTRACK OF US Burnage, Manchester - 1984. Sixteen-year-old Bori Smith prefers to stay out of the way - sketchbook in hand, music in her ears, trying to keep her head down at home and at school. The only person who really gets her is Noel Gallagher - her best mate since childhood, now seventeen and dreaming of something bigger than the council estate they grew up on. But not everyone approves of their friendship - especially Bori's parents. They think Noel's trouble. Maybe he is. Maybe that's why she can't seem to stay away. A story about music, friendship, and the moments that change everything. *⚠️ This story contains mature themes and strong language. Reader discretion is advised.* Ps.: The name on the cover (and in the story) "Bori Smith", is not my name, it's made up. It's used as if she wrote the book. Kinda. :) ! Also, each chapter features a song in it's title - I recommend checking them out before/after you've read that chapter. In a way they are connected to the story ;) I've made a playlist of it on Spotify, at the end of the introduction chapter you can find it. !

Let It Be

Alison Baker is used to moving around because of her dad's job. In 1987 the family move to Manchester in her final year of school. It's not easy being the new girl in town especially when you have a "posh" accent and live on the fancy new estate bordering the council houses. Alison has no idea that by the end of the year, thanks to one rebellious tearaway named Liam Gallagher, she'll never want to leave again. They get the same bus every day to take them to two very different schools. But one day on one particular bus ride their lives change forever. A deal is made. A pact that will draw two people, whose paths ordinarily should never have crossed, closer together. It will cause them to unwittingly weave in and out of each other's lives over the next 10 years.
