Maggie Brewer never really knew the difference between the moment and being in love. But she kept Tanner Diaz around anyway, holding onto that feeling of the first time they saw each other. But with each step forward he always took one backwards. Though in the end it never works because she is so interested in his life that she is not living her own. Not until they break up, for the millionth time, and Maggie realizes she can't keep doing this. She decides she can't keep sitting in the same place anytime he needs her. Because he may love the idea of her but that love only visits it never stays.

With the help of her best friend Betty, she decides to take her life back. She goes to Washington with the debate team, she goes to parties, she gets saved by Spiderman. She does it all! But the one thing Maggie never expected? She didn't expect to memorize all the freckles on someone's face, or to create a new friend outside of Betty. There's a lot of things Maggie expected when venturing into the new stage of life, but she just never expected him.
