Masking was encouraged; they couldn't let the civilians run for the hills if they saw the depths of a shinobi's psyche. Naruto wasn't any different, and he wore a mask around his fellow shinobi. Even they would curl and scream if he showed his true self. Shikamaru's mask was nonchalant; he had to keep it cool and steady.
But they finally clashed.

Their old bonds struggle to adjust to the feelings that are being brought up and Naruto isn't sure what's in his heart and how he feels. Can the three of them use their mental strength to fight the enemy and make sure nothing happens to their kids in the meantime.
