Hello my name is Shelby Jones and my story is about a young African American 16 year old girl named Brittany who had a life that nobody wants. She has to live in San Diego, California by herself in a apartment with her sister Lisa who is 7. Brittany has been raped, dropped out of school, became a hood rat,and been on drugs for about two years. Nobody likes her because she doesn't ask for help, has an attitude, and because she slept around with guys for money. She has a job that only pays $10 every five weeks.
She has a boyfriend who sells drugs, and make her sell her body for drugs. Her sister starves every night because they don't have enough money for a lot of food or water. Lisa still goes to school but is not doing her homework because Brittany won't help her because she doesn't know what to do. Brittany did badly in school, she got boys to do her work because she didn't want to do it, and she skipped school every Monday and Tuesday. So she didn't know how to do anything but smoke, drink, and have sex.
Brittany wasn't always like this, she started acting like this when she turned 15 because her mom died and her father wasn't in her life. They lived by there selves with no money, no food, no heat nothing until Brittany's boyfriend came and gave them money that he got from selling drugs all day. His name was Travis, he was tall, had black hair, brown eyes, nice lips, but those were only the good sides of him. He new how to persuade girls into doing what he wanted them to do, hit girls, ganged banged, and killed people. He tried to rape her little sister Lisa until Brittany came in the room and pushed him off her.
She forgave him the next day because she needed the money, but she didn't love him. Lisa doesn't like him because he hits her, touched her in her sleep, looked at her in the wrong way, tried to give her drugs, hits Brittany, has his guy friends come and touch on her, and just didn't like him.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
