Theodore was 10 when he acquired the ability to see the strings that connected people, but he didn't want anything to do with this new ability, so he ignored it until he met Ethan. He couldn't see Ethan's strings, and suddenly the strings were all he could think about.
Theodore couldn't see his own strings either; he had never been able to and now he had met someone who was just like him. He started asking himself questions he had never thought about before.
Why couldn't he see his strings?
Had Ethan never connected with anybody else?
Was it the same case for himself?
Where there more people like him?
Could anyone have the answers for his questions?
Did the death of his parents have something to do with his ability?
Eventually this curiosity turns into something else, and Ethan and Theodore get themselves into an unknown world of mysterious abilities and unknown feelings.

He thought he could block him out like every other person, like every other male that made him think in such a bad way. But somehow, for the first time, he couldn't force himself to forget the expression on the boy's face when his fist collided roughly with his jaw. ~ Alexei Abbots was happy. Really, really happy. He was open, free, and accepted by the two best women he had ever met, who completely turned his life around.
