The Origins (Short Story)

Patrick is a middle school student with very expectant parents, especially his father who even dares to lie a hand on him, or a belt. Lack of sleep isn't an option for him, it's a must, just to study, and study, and study.

At least he has a couple of friends, Stephen and Lucifer. Although he never opened up about his problems at home to them, they're still caring for him and they sometimes help him with the bullies. They're the early version of 'The Soviets' who judge him for being such a try-hard, unaware of the reason behind it.

But one day his fate is changed as he's dragged into a messy situation involving being a cult's sacrifice, hidden under the hotel, in its basement as the place is under some maintenance. Only after the events do they check it out and find the aftermath, sort of. They believe it to be haunted so they lock it up.

That is until some teenagers break inside several years later, all possessing familiar faces. Will he manage to find his rest?
