Aira thought her new job as executive assistant would mean schedules and spreadsheets-not secrets and stolen glances. But her boss, Dario Virello, is no ordinary CEO. Beneath the tailored suits and cold commands lies the heir to a powerful mafia empire. As she's pulled deeper into his world, danger stalks every corner-and so does desire. Lines blur between professionalism and obsession, between loyalty and betrayal. He's used to control, but she's not so easily owned. In the heart of the city's most dangerous game, falling for the boss isn't just reckless-it might be deadly. But some temptations are impossible to resist.

Small excerpt from the book
I wanted to scream. I wanted to sob.
And instead, I just said: "You don't even know me."
He stepped closer.
"No," he murmured. "But I see you."
And then, without warning, he lifted his hand - gently - and touched the side of my face.
His thumb brushed my cheek.
Slow. Careful. Like he was touching something breakable.
"You think I'm dangerous," he whispered.
"You are," I breathed.
His lips quirked. "Good."
Then he leaned in - not a kiss. Not quite. But close enough that I could feel the heat of it.
"I won't hurt you," he said. "But I'll destroy anything that tries to."

BOOK THREE OF THE BLACK SERIES *this book CANNOT be read as a stand-alone* -- "Get the hell off of me, Lucian," I snapped angrily, smacking the palm of my hands on his muscular back as he carried me out of the club. "Who the fuck do you think you are?" It wasn't until he carried me upstairs and into a VIP room that he set me on my feet. I wobbled from the combination of my heels and the alcohol finally reaching my brain. It didn't stop me from glaring at him, but he just stared back, his eyes blank. As always. He's never been a talker, unlike me. What the hell was he even doing here? "You can't just walk on the dance floor and throw me over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes," I snapped, trying to get passed him. "I'm not a kid anymore, Lucian, okay? I'm not yours to protect - I never have been!" Hearing those words must have triggered him because he snapped. Lucian roughly grabbed me by the waist and pushed me against the cold wall, his body pressed right against mine. My eyes widened in shock and I met his blazing glare, feeling his hand creep up to my hair and twist it in his knuckles. I tried to force the lump down my throat but felt the confidence leave my body. "I can do damn well as I please when I see my woman dancing with a man who would want nothing more than to take her back to his place," he growled out, tilting my head up by my hair. Our lips were almost touching. I suddenly can't breathe. "You're mine, Mia," he spoke, this time his words low and raspy. "You always have been - never fucking forget that."

"Please," I whisper, my voice trembling as tears prick the corners of my eyes. "Please don't hurt me." The words barely escape my throat, fragile and desperate. He studies me for a moment, tilting his head slightly, almost as if he's amused by my plea. Then he scoffs, the sound sharp and mocking. "Why would I want to do that?" he murmurs, his voice smooth but carrying a dark undertone that chills me. He takes a step forward, and instinctively, I step back. "I've just found you..." He pauses, his gaze dragging over my face like a predator sizing up its prey. "And now you're mine." Aurora Evans leads a life of simplicity. Eat, work, sleep-her unchanging regimen is her sanctuary, and she has no intention of altering it. But what unfolds when a shadowy figure, lurking beyond her windows, takes an insidious interest in her? One glance at her in a café ensnares him, rendering him captivated, his singular ambition becoming clear: to claim her as his own. Aurora's attempts to escape his shadowy games are futile, especially in the cloak of night when he emerges, weaving his spell under the cover of darkness. He teases, entices, and pushes her perilously close to her breaking point. Her resolve is to distance herself as much as possible. Yet, fate has a cruel sense of irony. When she is abruptly dismissed from her previous job, she unwittingly lands a position working for him-as his assistant-entangling her in a web she can no longer evade. *A STALKER ROMANCE* #1 in "assistant" 12/23/24 #1 in "criminal" 3/8/25
