fog and blood | daredevil fanfic.

She wasn't rescued. She escaped.

Mila Zoryeva is a ghost-trained by the Red Room, unclaimed by its heroes, and living quietly in Brooklyn under a stolen name. By day, she files books in a dusty library. By night, she takes freelance contracts that let her bleed without questions. She doesn't speak of the past. She doesn't look in mirrors. She survives.

But when a high-profile target draws her into Hell's Kitchen, Mila crosses paths with someone just as haunted: Matthew Murdock. Blind lawyer. Reluctant vigilante. A man who listens like he's waiting for the truth to break.

He's not supposed to know her.
He's not supposed to follow her.
And she's not supposed to care.

Yet the deeper she sinks into the job-and into him-the harder it becomes to tell where Mila ends and Eridia, the weapon she was trained to be, begins.

As ghosts from both their pasts rise, Mila faces an impossible question:
Can you become more than what they made you?

Or were you always meant to burn?
