Wanderer has taken up Nahida's request to go retrieve a few things from Inazuma, but his original simple plan goes 'off-script' when he's suddenly accused of being an associate of a fugitive. Now he has to deal with an overly carefree mortal and run from the law, again. But maybe it's not so bad.

Won't contain smut/lemon. I will state warnings before chapters, and add other character tags as they arrive in the story. Direct crosspost from Ao3 This is an INTENSELY self indulgent prequel for the events of Monster Hunter World following the life of the Commander. Fic takes place from the First Fleet setting out and covers things like the Celestial Pursuit ending up on a mountain, the Scoutflies, the Seeker peacing out, the Research Base crash landing, and some other stuff I'm forgetting, and ends right before the opening sequence of the game. So if you like Monster Hunter, and for some reason you're not here for the monster part (why are we here? Where is the appeal beyond big monster?), we're here together. Ngl, I wrote this because he is 100% my OC's type, and I had brain worms until I wrote it all out. I'm freeeee! Summary: Kaedehara Kazuha: the boss of a famed criminal organization, the Fatui. Scaramouche: the lead detective working on the case of the mysterious new Fatui leader. Their meeting happens seemingly by chance, at an empty and desolate bar. The friendship that forms afterwards is something tender and intimate. But Kazuha knows more than he lets on, and he isn't who he says he is. (Scaramouche finds that out the hard way.)
