Erased is a work of fiction, written as part of my personal exploration of the psychological thriller genre in preparation for my upcoming series, House of Ashes. This story allowed me to experiment with suspense, paranoia, unreliable memory, and fractured identity to better understand what works for me as a writer - and what keeps readers hooked.
None of the events, characters, or attitudes depicted here reflect me personally, nor do they endorse or glorify violence or harm in any way. This is simply a story about what it means to lose yourself - and the lengths we'll go to piece ourselves back together.

It just happened in a flash, just like that it was like a dream..no a nightmare one in which I could never wake up from, one in which we all couldn't wake up from. We could never wake up from it... If this were to happened at the beginning of our lives then at some point we could have said it's in the past let's focus on the present to make the future void of any more mistakes like the past but NO! We were sailing smoothly, normal life shenaggins, but in an instant everything we knew, everything I KNEW was tainted pure black void of light, it's our present predicament it's not in the past -YET it can never be, no one wants to accept it's in the past, I don't want to accept it's in the past. There's no future for me if i can't get past this, there's no future for US if we don't get past this..the question is can I ever get past this, CAN WE ever get past this, it involves all of us it's the bitter truth we all are protagonists in each chapter of this whole fucking nightmare OR story, we are engulfed in this darkness seeing as darkness has no source we ask amongst ourselves when will light come to us and what was the light we all once had, what gave the light, because the source of light we all had is dead, gone, broken, lost..... I frowned, thrown off "Do i...remember?" "Do you remember..." she starts but her voice falters. She glances down at the sand, biting her lip debating whether to even continue. She then takes a shaky breath and finally looks up. Eyes locking with mine " do you even remember how you got it?" Her question hits me like a slap. I open my mouth, then close it, my brows furrowing as I force my brain to rewind. How did I get it? Nothing. Not a single clear memory.
