Everyone has a sibling in their life whether it's blood, by marriage or friend. This story portrays a young girls relationship with her brother who is ill.
Their relationship begins off strong until a tragedy happens. Will their relationship be tested farther even in separation? This story is dedicated to my cousin Ashlin Case. Without being with her through times of grief and happiness when it was a child, it inspired me later in life to not judge others on what they look on the outside but getting to know them, inside and out taught me that you can still have a relationship with someone with a disability. I loved her and I always have. Death itself cannot separate family.

A Place to Fall

Warmth and shame. They're all Ailyn felt anymore. Two sides of the same coin, tangled up in the only person she had left. In 2084, the world was falling apart, but it didn't collapse all at once. It faded slowly, piece by piece, like her family. Like her. Ailyn and Airen were running. Not just from the house they left behind, but from everything it took from them. The rain fell heavy, the neon lights blurred, and the city promised nothing but hollow shelter. But in the quiet moments, when it was just the two of them, there was something else. A fragile connection, a desperate longing for love and safety in a world that forgot them. It was messy. It was real. It was their only place to fall.
