On the run from Atterberry, Dayton and Massimo search for refuge. The two of them must battle their grief after losing their best friends and find their place in the outside world. Dayton discovers that not everyone is very accepting of an Aterian soldier, and Massimo finds that not everyone is as hateful toward people like him. And Dayton must find a way to love himself and trust those around him to accept him for who he is. Cecelia and Lydia are two Zephyrian sisters, both always sneaking in and out of Atterberry. But after the sun becomes visible, the two of them expect their visits to the kingdom to be a lot more interesting. What they don't expect is for the royal family to be harboring a lot more secrets than they had let on. And even worse, they both feel that it is their responsibility to save the citizens of the kingdom before everything goes too far. (This book is book 2 of the Lunar Series. Daphne longed for something more than what the ocean held for her. She is tainted by the race that she was born to lead if anything happened to her brothers that made them incapable of leading their kingdom. There was nothing down there for her that would give her any happiness. She needed something that could pull away from the feelings of hate that she feels for herself. The depression that seeps into her bones every time she is hit, either with words or an object. Daphne needed something that would save her from the world that she is withering in. Maybe she could find what she is looking for in the world up above. The one where she and anyone in her kingdom are forbidden from adventuring to. It was a world that was just only out of her reach. She only had to find a way to get there. Then maybe she could find her happily ever after.
