Ali was the heir to a bloodline of Ulama, a Hafiz and soon-to-be Alim destined to become a guiding star in a world that has forgotten how to look up. Zoya, his neighbor and childhood friend, has always been his classmate in the the same Ilmiyyah and hifz class. She's sharp-minded, steadfast, and cloaked in the same divine calling.

As we know, through centuries, Ulama's have guided mankind. Their entire lives, they strive to become the guiding stars, the heirs of the prophets. Years of memorizing scriptures of hadiths and sacred texts, Quran, and implementing it in their lives is a real struggle.

Ali and Zoya are training to be just like that. There lives are stitched together by strong Ilm scripture and sacred purpose-until a single rumor spreads like wildfire through their tightly-wound neighborhood. To silence the storm, they're forced into a marriage neither of them chose.

But something stirs beneath the surface-whispers of fate, the weight of destiny, and trials more spiritual than they ever imagined.

In a world where every step is watched and every word carries power, can Ali and Zoya still rise to become the luminous souls they were born to be?

As we fall into the pit of darkness, trust me, hold me tight, Hold on to the wisp of hope, let me give you light. ------------------------------------- Fear. Fear defined Abeer Irfan's life. Every night, it engulfed her and she drowned into the endless horrors of her past. Every night, she lost a part of her to the evil. Every night, it got worse and worse to the point of no return. You see, she wasn't alive; she was just breathing. On one special night, she opened a door, a door hidden in the maze of her horrors. It was on that special night, that she met him. The words I am sorry are lodged in my throat, but I don't want to beg him. I am done begging people for mercy. "That's more like it." Being a high school Muslim hijabi was already a lot to deal with but add a crazy life and it gets all too messy. Trust me Malak is a badass girl that doesn't take shit from nobody but there was only one person who got under her skin. Amir Khalid. Wherever she went they would always butt heads. She despised him and his fancy clothing and overly dramatic spending. Even though he was the only male Muslim in her school she figured she would never ever care for him as he frequently ignored her ever being unless he tortures her. She just knew that she would NEVER be interested.
