Olympus stands tall. Its ruler stands taller. But even thunder hides silence, and even gods can weep.

After banishing Apollo for defying his command, Zeus retreats to solitude - not as a god, but as a father, a brother, and a husband buried beneath centuries of duty.

In a quiet moment, he writes. Of love withheld. Of regret unspoken. Of what could have been, had things been different.

A poetic, emotional one-shot from the perspective of the King of the Gods - for readers who wonder what lies beneath the thunder.

P.S.: The story is written after the end of "The Heroes of Olympus" and the start of "Trials of Apollo"

43 parts Complete

Annais had everything to prove and no time to do it. As one of five children of the underworld cursed to lead the seven on their journey of death and destruction, Annais had the fate of the universe resting on her shoulders. If Annais and her sisters failed to guide them down the right path, the seven would be killed and Gaea would rise. Gaea threatened the loss of the Gods, the demise of humankind. So just a bit of pressure, to say the least. heroes of olympus / jason grace the lost hero ― mark of athena @-windwillows © 2021 cover by @-laevinic
