Bella goes to Italy to save Edward, but her younger sister, Thea Swan follows her because she doesn't trust Alice or her family with her sisters safety. She has spent the last few months getting up late when Bella had a nightmare, making sure her sister ate, and didn't completely waste away. She got a job and helped her dad with bills while taking care of Bella.
Now Thea stands before the three Volturi Kings apart from Bella, Edward, and Alice, wanting nothing to do with them because Bella has made it clear to Thea that she doesn't care that Thea will have to become a vampire. Things take a turn and Thea verbally attacks Edward. That causes Edward to strike at Thea, but Aro intervenes before Edward can do any severe damage.
This sets into motion revealing that Marcus saw a connection between Thea and Aro. That it was very likely Aro would be a part of Thea's life from that moment on. Which has its own set of complications. Will Thea come out okay or will being with a Volturi King be far more dangerous than anything that could happen to her when she was only involved with the Cullens?
