A fire. Caused by twolegs. And suddenly Nightpaw's entire life as she knows it has changed. The four clans that had ruled the territories for centuries have been wiped out. Now the future for any sort of clan rests in the paws of four apprentices. They will need to find a new territory, a new place to communicate with StarClan and, most importantly, cats to form a clan with. Will they survive? This story is set many moons after the great cats during Firestar's time were around. Also, any arcs after the first arc did not happen. Firepaw is an apprentice training to be a warrior in TreeClan. After being separated from his family by a fox, he is forced into unknown terrain and picked up by a TreeClan border patrol. Firepaw proves himself worthy of becoming an apprentice. But life as a clan cat proves to be difficult and not just because it's winter and prey is scarce. His clan mates don't trust him, the deputy and some other warriors hate his guts, and many taunt and tease him for being a rogue in his past. Plus, there is lies and betrayal at every turn.
