He wasn't supposed to be there.
He didn't even like coffee.
But his friend had bailed on their lunch plans, and the rain had started without warning, so Brent ducked into the nearest cafe with nothing but wet sleeves and a vague craving for something warm.
That's when he saw her.
Behind the counter. Laughing at something the barista beside her said. Her head tilted back just slightly, eyes crinkling at the corners, mouth curved in a smile that didn't ask for attention but demanded anyway.
----
He was younger. She could tell.
Not by much, maybe five, six years. But enough. Enough that when he flirted, she didn't take it seriously. Enough that when he lingered at the counter, she chalked it up to boredom, not interest.
She didn't have time for boys like that. Not when she's still healing from a toxic ex.
But he kept coming back.

Curly Headed Cutie
"I can't believe I came out here to get you!!!" I turn around and find Travis standing over me, droplets rolling down his face and neck. He's soaked in water and his jeans look heavy due to the rain. I giggle and shout over the rain, "You didn't have to come out here! I was just trying to prove a point!!" "And you did!!" He replies, rubbing his black hair back, his shirt sticking to him. I look him up and down noticing the outline of muscles in his shirt. I bite my lip and just stare. Goddamn!~ I need Jesus!!! "My eyes are up here!!" Travis says, cupping my chin and forcing me to look back up at him. I blush, as he lets go of my face, "I wasn't purposely trying to stare!!" Bitch, why you lyin'??? Just admit you were staring!! "Riiight~" He purrs, grinning devilishly, "If it makes you feel better, my eyes wandered off to other places too~" His eyes flash down to my shirt, and I look down noticing my shirt is kind of see-through; revealing my black sports bra underneath. Oh my- "TRAVIS REEL!!!" I shout, pushing him, my face probably as red as hot pepper. He chuckles, stumbling back a little, "You were staring at me first!!" I roll my eyes, "Not the point!" "It kind of is." I turn away, "No it's not..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ #1 in Awkwardsituations (2.22.24) ALL RIGHTS OWNED!!! PLEASE DON'T COPY MY WORKKKKK!!! Previously known as "Nothing But Trouble". My Teddy
The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" I ask, swinging my feel a little. He shakes his head shyly, his mouth not moving at all. Geez! Why do I want to hear this dude talk so much? "Okay, that's fine. I can give you a nickname." I offer happily. He looks up from his book, raising his eyebrows. I just stare for a moment. He has nice eyes. Pretty brown chocolate orbs. They remind me so much of....... "Teddy." He shakes his head immediately, frowning. "What, why not? You remind me of my old teddy bear. He was a good listener and he didn't talk much..... just like you." I say softly, tilting my head. He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" He sighs, the first sound I have ever heard him make. "No." . . . *Jordan* Teddy!? Seriously!? She gave me a fucking NICKNAME!? What the hell does this girl want!? I stuff my hands into my pockets, walking down the busy street. Forget about her. She's just a annoying pretty girl, she'll go away. Everybody does. She HAS to go away. *Spoiler alert*: she doesn't. Don't get close to people or they'll end up getting hurt. That's my mindset. I've been through enough of that. This girl doesn't belong in my world anyway. She's too innocent. *Mature content* {Just a quick update, I am basically rewriting the story. I wrote it when I was in 8th grade and it makes me cringe every time I try to go back and edit it so keep in mind that it'll get better}Complete
The Good Bad Girl- the Outsiders Dally Winston x Reader
***Completed: I had written out a wedding scene but didn't feel like finishing it*** You stood with your back against the lamp post, trying not to break down in the middle of the street. Based on how dark it was out, it was probably around three in the morning- nobody would be able to see if you started crying. But it didn't matter to you. Because Greasers don't cry. They're not supposed to- it doesn't meet their personality, their stereotype. "You okay, kid?" You could recognize the voice who asked those three simple, infuriating words. You kept your head down and balled your fists, wishing that he would get the hint that you didn't want to talk. "Go away, Winston." "Come on, kid, I just want to make sure that you're okay." You could feel him place a hand on your shoulder- a gentle touch that gave a sense of genuine care. "Like hell you do," you reply, shrugging your shoulder so that his hand fell away. "None of you dumbass Greasers care about nothing but girls and cars and smoking pot behind the cops' backs. You guys are self-centered, righteous assholes. I can see why the Socs hate you losers so fucking much."Complete

I bit my tongue, regretting that remark. "The other girls can't possibly compare to my pretty girl." He ignores the question, his eyes scanning my face for any signs of a reaction to his charm. "My lovely.." He pulled my arm towards him. I felt a slow kiss on the back of my hand. "Sweet.." then another on the other hand. "-golden heart girl." He looked up through his eyelashes. I stay silent as I looked around the room, avoiding eye contact. He placed his free hand on my waist, the other still holding my hand. "Shall I call them over while I have you bent over this bed?" He says planting a kiss on my stomach, going lower each time. I run my free hand through the back of his hair, gently pulling his head back slightly, forcing him to look back up at me. He had a dangerously evil smile on. I knew my cheeks were going red, I pushed him away and rushed towards the the door. "You always do this." I mumble quietly, trying to catch my breath which I lost in the heat of the moment. "Would you be lying to me if you said you didn't like it?" He replied, walking over to me. The lines around his eyes mean he's every bit the man he looks, but his devilish white-toothed grin gives him a boyish charm meant to full man like me. He's fucking hot in a black three-piece suit that's obviously been tailored to fit his large chiseled frame perfectly. With that crisp white button-down shirt and simple black tie you'd think he was a young CEO, but his muscular body, piercing blue eyes and messy dark hair that's long enough to grab, make him a sex god. Lust and power radiate from his broad chest as his eyes travel down my body. He looks like a man who knows how to destroy you. A wave of desire shoots through me when my eyes meet his heated stare. My breathing hitches and I swallow down the distress I'm feeling at my treacherous body. I'll just give him the money Jungkook owed him and get the fuck out here. THE SPACE BETWEEN US
"COME ON!" he yelled, popping back up and slicking his hair out of his face like he was in a shampoo commercial. "IT'S NOT THAT BAD!" "That's what people say right before they die," I muttered, clutching my towel tighter around my shoulders. Kai was already stripping off his shirt like we were in an Abercrombie & Fitch: Wilderness Edition ad. Robin, on the other hand, was sitting safely on a rock with a bag of chips, observing the chaos with a judgmental squint and zero intention of getting wet. "You going in?" Felix asked beside me, voice soft but teasing. He had his hoodie slung over one shoulder, his shirt lifted slightly where he was fidgeting with the hem. I looked at him, suspicious. "Are you?" He gave a one-shouldered shrug. "Only if you do." "Oh, so if I drown from hypothermia, you're cool going down with me?" "Basically," he said, and smiled-the real kind. The crooked, honest kind. The kind I was starting to crave without meaning to. And just like that, my stubborn pride made the decision for me. "Fine. But if I die, I'm haunting you first." ... The humorous people hater, Athena. The girl with a quiet demeanor when she's not with people she's comfortable with and who hates attention from people she doesn't like (which is probably many in this case). She always keeps a low profile in school and tries to push through the endless social interactions around her. The friend group who she lives with is the complete opposite, they're chaotic to say the least. The artsy blonde girl who has a dick of a boyfriend, and the gay dude with musical talent, where the best people she met. When she waits for the bus she takes from school to home, she meets the Asian boy who draws. Read to embrace their story. ... Complete:✔️Complete
