Rowan Welhaven is not a people person, in fact she's so terminally grumpy that she could give a war-hardened grandfather a run for their money. With this in mind, she's not exactly sure how she ended up in a friend group that's so... spirited. In the midst of national conflict, she must face the trials and tribulations of teenage life in a Catholic Girls' School in Northern Ireland, which proves to be a lot more eventful than she ever could have anticipated. Rowan dislikes her friends equally, or so she seems to believe, but perhaps there is room in her self-proclaimed cold heart for a few stupid people to care about, or perhaps one in particular.
