Malila, a fourteen-year-old, finds life on another planet. Tina, the "alien," tells Malila not to tell anyone about this discovery. She says "We have known about humans for a long time, but we don't believe they should be used as a science experiment." Tina doesn't want to cause harm to her home planet, Jupiter. When scientists on Earth find out about the life on Jupiter, Tina thinks Malila might have told them, and she gets mad at Malila. Malila worries their friendship could end because of this.
