No matter how much you cry and scream, you can never bring someone back from the dead.

When Natsu Dragoneel steps between Lucy Heartfelia and a fatal blow, he knows he won't be breathing after it. And that just kills Lucy as much as it did him, but she could still stand. Walk. Breathe. But she was broken. She crawled and shouted and begged to find a way to at least just see him alive one last time.

And then she finds a way to go back. To see him again. Back before he was killed, just to spend those last bit with him. But she is not allowed to change what is to come. She will watch over and over, his death. Telling herself, "At least I had one more minute. Now give me another. And another."

And then she goes too far back.

(A/N: This is basically a fanfic out of context from the current storyline. It will probably contain a few spoilers but nothing major. I am just sick of Lucy dying/getting amnesia/leaving FT. So I write this. Manga readers, don't explode on me. I know what is going on and WOW. I do not own fairy Tail and most of the characters, but I own the storyline here and dialog. Thank you! This will be my main focus book on this account~!)

"You're different from what I expected," she said softly. "How so?" he asked, glancing at her. "I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare." He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that." OR Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
