In this world, Devils (Shaitan, शैतान) are born from the collective fear, greed, and hatred of humanity. They roam the Earth, taking physical form through chaos and desire. To combat them, the government formed the Special Security Devil Killers (SSDK) - elite operatives trained to hunt, capture, or destroy Devils. Some of these operatives make deadly contracts with Devils, trading their humanity for inhuman power.

When a Devil possesses a dead body, it becomes a Devilman. But sometimes, when a human and a Devil merge in mutual will, they become a Hybrid - a being that walks the line between Hell and Earth.

Kanak, a 17-year-old street thief and shameless pervert, dreams only of "becoming the King of his own world." Poor, orphaned, and reckless, he breaks into a mafia mansion one night - only to be brutally killed. But before death takes him, the King Devil revives him as a Hybrid, on the condition that Kanak must slay the Queen Devil.

The King Devil misunderstands Kanak's wish to "become King," believing it to be a vow of allegiance. Kanak, in turn, misinterprets the pact as his own coronation. The result? A massacre. The newly reborn Hybrid, half-man and half-King Devil, annihilates every mafia member in the house.
