I was there when it happened. It haunts me every night in my dreams. If it weren't for my best friends, Remy and Pax (who just so happens to be my boyfriend), I don't know what I would have done.
Allow me to elaborate. My name is Ember. I go to a prestigious school for performing arts called Sterling Performance Arts Academy. I act, sing, and dance. We have a lot to do here. During the day, us students learn boring stuff (like math and science and other snorefests.) In the evenings, we practice performing arts. I don't get the best grades in school, but I am a pretty decent actress. Although, I am outshined by my older sister, Maisie, in performance arts, but that's okay because acting is what I love to do.
It all started in the beginning of the school year- on August first. It was my junior year of high school, and the start of my second year at SPA Academy. I was excited to see Remy and Pax again. Mostly, I was stoked to see what the first semester play would be, but I didn't know what would be ahead. Little did I know that there would be a tragedy in the theatre, and there would be a lot of unplanned drama.

Have you ever had one of those terrible yet annoyingly pivotal moments? You know, that monumental fragment of time that flips everything you have ever known. That plot twist second that completely takes you by surprise. The one just before the storm hits and everything goes to hell. Yes? Because you see, that moment happens to be my whole damn life. It wasn't always like this though. I used to have a pretty mundane existence, happy to just get good grades and be around my friends. God I wish I could get that simplicity back, I'd never complain it was boring again. But I know I'm not going to ever get back my old life because well... I died. (Kinda) But I woke up. And I was thrilled, beyond grateful I wasn't dead. But then I realized that there was one minor detail that had changed about my reality. I was given the chance to live but it turns out I woke up as the villainess in an otome game my friend used to be obsessed with - Kingdom of freaking Hearts (I added the freaking in there for effect, it's just Kingdom of Hearts) Where, for the record, the villainess only has two possible endings 1) execution and 2) getting exiled. So Fate was like, "Don't worry, I'll save you. Here's a chance to live" and then was like "psyche, screw you. You're still going to die but I'll let you suffer a little first." So now, if only to annoy Fate by proving it wrong, I am determined to survive. I can and I will if I play by these simple rules: 1) Befriend Heroin 2) Avoid Aryn Edwards at All Costs as well as other capture targets And 3) Be the top student at the academy and become an invaluable asset to my Kingdom so I become indispensable, thus unkillable. I'm determined, stubborn, persistent and I will live passed 16. Fate made a big mistake setting me up to die. Since it threw this plot twist at me, I figure I'll return the favor. I'll be the biggest plot twist Fate never saw coming...

I awoke to shuffling in my room. I looked over to my alarm clock. 2:47. The hell? The shuffling comes closer to my bed and I tense when I see a shadow of a man. I stay still, breath coming in small pants as I tried to pretend I was sleeping. I feel a dip on the end of my bed and stiffen. I squeeze my eyes shut and whimper quietly. I hear a low growl and snap open my eyes to see bright blue eyes staring into my violet ones. I whimper again before bolting out of bed and to the door but the man catches me. I feel his breath on my neck before his face trails up to my ear causing a shiver to run down my spine. "Mate." He whispers huskily. I back up, struggling to get away from this him, not knowing who this person is. Mate? What the fuck is that? "It's okay little one," he said as came closer to me. I felt so tiny in his presence, especially in wolf form. He knelt down and tried to move closer but I whimpered and backed up more into the tree. He sighed again before trying again and I tired to put all my fears away as he once again reached out his hand. I put my head down, hoping that if I couldn't see him, I wouldn't be scared. As I felt his hand on my back and felt tingles explode, I jumped but then relaxed as I got used to it. I calmed down more as he picked up my small frame and held me close before whispering into my ear, "What has happened to you little one?" *~*~*~* Celeste has always been running. I was almost to the door when I remembered the leather jacket I brought. I turned back to the room and just as I entered the most wonderful smell hit my nose.
