Different is Beautiful

Elizabeth Garcia is a senior in high school. Liz lived with her big sister Rosa and Rosa's boyfriend Carlos after their parents died in the summer after her 8th grade year. Rosa, Carlos, and Liz moved to Puerto Rico after their deaths to live with Liz's grandma. In Puerto Rico, Rosa and Carlos got married and had their son named Javier. They moved back to their small hometown of Greys Village in California. Liz has many friends still in California when she comes back, but they won't recognize her. In middle school, she wore glasses, braces and was a little out of shape. To say the least, she wasn't the most attractive girl around and she would get bullied constantly. When Liz goes back, she starts to get attention that she has never gotten before. She gets the attention of so many people that she feels sort of uncomfortable. Will she crash and burn from the attention or will she realize how beautiful such a difference can be?
