The story of Paisley Kay and what she had to go through, alone. Paisley Kay is 13 years old when everything happens with her dad. She felt alone. Paisley is a smart girl, all honors classes, plays soccer, she has a ton of friends. She wasn't the most popular, but she is friends with the popular kids, and the weird kids, and the "misfit kids". Paisley loves to include everyone, mainly because she knows what it's like to be excluded. But once her dad has a sudden heart attack, everything changes. She has to go through the grieving process, all of her friends say that they will always be there for her, and they were!! For about 6 months... Paisley gets a boyfriend, Baker. Through out the story Paisley shares her experience with grief, her life after the passing of a loved one, how she loves someone after losing a loved one, and the way she is affected by everything mentally. Paisley shows that she goes through everything alone. No matter who says they're there for her. The thoughts in her mind start to spiral and become out of control. She doesn't know what to do but she knows she needs help.

Joy Jones was a seventeen-year-old kind and optimistic girl working in her grandpa's flower shop, but she had a secret. She was suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and wanted nothing, but to die peacefully.
That was until Logan Kellerman, a young man with suicidal tendencies came storming into her life and stole roses from her grandpa's flower shop. Instead of running away with what he came for, he found himself falling deeper and deeper into her as she made his heart skip in delight, for she was, in her own words, a little bit of Joy.
