Penelope secretly wished she had a piano but couldn't couldn't ask for one as she would be shamed for just buying everything now. Luckily, she found a relic while shopping that can grant 1 wish if you give your family's health in return, not knowing it was made by her wizard ancestor who married a mermaid. Wanting to stop the person who framed her as a necklace thief, which caused all her misery in the first place, Penelope used it unhesitatingly.

But she thought she'd be able to remember her past AND go all the way back when her parents were still alive to learn she had a mermaid as an ancestor, like her favourite story the lovely mermaid who chose to turn to sea foam than to kill the prince who she lost everything for. So our Penny wants to embrace her inner mermaid to stop copying the princess (Ivonne), who the prince loved and chose herself over the prince's life so she could live instead.

And also, to make everything up to the Duke, who was the only one who let her stay no matter what she did. Despite being responsible. To free herself from these chains she is still guilty of.

Her life had always been one of luxury and excess-until the day her husband, the Duke, left for war. It was then, amidst the emptiness of their grand estate, that something within her stirred. Memories of another life flooded her mind, revealing a shocking truth: she had reincarnated into the body of the villainess from a fantasy-romance novel she once read. Upon his return, he would demand a divorce, casting Veronica aside. But the story didn't stop there. Left to stew in her bitterness, the villainess would meet a tragic end at his hands. But this Veronica was different. Armed with knowledge of the story's events, she resolved to take a different path. She would play her role with grace, sign the divorce papers without a fight, and step out of the limelight. Peace, freedom, and a quiet life were her new goals. Three years passed. The war ended, and the Duke returned. Veronica, prepared for her fate, was ready with her pen poised over the divorce papers. Yet, to her growing confusion, the Duke didn't say a word about separation. His eyes, once cold and distant, now lingered on her with an intensity she didn't recognize.
