I am twenty one today. And I have never seen the world.
But something in me is stirring. Not fear. Not longing.
A pull.
A promise.

And I think... I might be the one to find out.
Elira has never seen the sky.
Born into the rusted womb of Bunker 12-one of the last underground shelters after Earth was overtaken by the Vorr, terrifying surface-dwellers who ended the age of humanity-Elira's entire life has been confined to steel corridors, recycled oxygen, and silence. At twenty-one, she knows her place: work hard, obey the Elders, and never ask what's above.
But questions have a way of clawing their way to the surface.
When a maintenance error leads her to a hidden passage and a map of the surface long thought destroyed, Elira finds herself face to face with the possibility that the world outside isn't as dead as she was taught. Whispers of forbidden zones, long-abandoned secrets, and unexplained disappearances push her deeper into the lies that hold their fragile underground society together.
As the bunker edges toward collapse politically, structurally, and morally Elira must choose: cling to the safety of the cage she was born into, or risk everything to break through it.
Hope didn't die with the surface. It was buried. And Elira is ready to dig.

For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on.
