Eli is quiet, gentle, and haunted by a past he rarely speaks about. He struggles with anxiety, gets sudden flashbacks, and keeps people at a distance not because he wants to, but because it feels safer that way. He's clingy when he cares, scared of being left, and afraid to trust again.
Then he meets Layan cold, distant, and hard to read. She doesn't let people in easily, and most don't bother trying. But something about Eli pulls at her, even when she doesn't understand why.
Slowly, they start to break through each other's walls. Eli begins to open up, piece by piece, and Layan finds herself softening, feeling things she thought she had locked away. Neither of them is perfect, but somehow, they help each other heal not with big gestures, but with quiet understanding, patience, and just being there.

(A/N: This actually a little bit of a side story off of my other two books "I HATE YOU" and it's sequel "Hey, I STILL HATE YOU" and you are welcome to read that before this but it isn't necessary! Enjoy.)
