Year 2502. The human colony of New Gaia, also known as Kepler-442b-once a paradise of photosynthetic jungles and crystalline towers-is now a hellscape of pulsating flesh. The Y'Zharin, an alien race previously unknown to humanity, who sculpt and worship flesh, have launched their first large-scale invasion into human space, annihilating one of its most prosperous outer colonies. The UCC (Unified Colonies Commonwealth) Seventh Fleet arrives too late: cities burn, civilians are hunted, and corpses rise as puppets of infected sinew.

Amid the chaos, the 211th Armored TWF Squadron "Zorya" is deployed from the destroyer UCCS Weil der Stadt with an impossible mission: protect the last evacuation ship as the planet collapses. Piloting TWF Mark-III "Zhuravlik" mechs, Lieutenant Erika Reinhardt and her comrades fight street by street through Veridian, a city transformed into an organic deathtrap. But the Y'Zharin learn. They adapt. And every fallen soldier joins their swarm.

With just 38 minutes until orbital bombardment, Zorya isn't fighting for victory.
They're fighting for time.

It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. Most survivors live in hidden cities, avoiding the ancient ruined cities at all costs. But not Jace and his crew. As a group of Stray Humans, they've made the decaying cities their home, roaming the forgotten streets, never staying in one place for long, and bringing all their skills to the table. They are a family, working together to make sure those things, Aliens, never take another human as long as they are near. When the aliens of A.C.R. (Animal Care and Rescue) find a new group of humans wandering the ruins of a large city, they think it will be an easy capture. But they soon learn that these particular humans have more willpower than most. They dodge every trap, disappear around every bend, and even manage to take some of the already captured humans with them. The aliens pity these "little creatures"-they just don't want to leave their home, but Earth is falling apart at the seams, and they are determined to take the stubborn little humans to the safety of one of the mother planets. No matter the cost. My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal.
