Nineteen-year-old aspiring writer Ruelle lives a quiet life, tucked away in her grandmother's apartment, weaving fictional worlds where pain fuels plot and tragedy shapes heroes. But when the protagonist of her current work-in-progress - a war-torn man desperately searching for his missing partner - becomes aware that his world is nothing more than words on a page, everything begins to unravel.

Haunted by strange inconsistencies in his reality, he uncovers the unthinkable truth: his life, his suffering, his very identity have all been dictated by an unseen hand - hers. And now, driven by questions no narrative could answer, he follows a hidden trail into the real Rumble straight to the doorstep of the girl who created him.

Ruelle is stunned to find her fictional character standing in her kitchen in the dead of night - furious, broken, and very much alive. What begins as a confrontation quickly spirals into something far more dangerous: the line between fiction and reality blurs, and the unfinished story refuses to stay on the page. With his world collapsing and his partner still lost, the protagonist demands the one thing only his author can give - an ending. But whose story is it now?
