A best-selling novelist, Bri writes the stories of her dreams. The swashbuckling pirate has haunted her mind since she was a child, yet the daring adventures and family-like-crew bring her a thrill she can't quite explain. Things take an unexpected turn, though, when her dreams begin to leak into the real world... and the dangers she thought lived only in her imagination become real when she meets a man that reminds her a bit too much of a dangerous character from her books. All of my stories feature LGBTQ+ characters: in this novel, the MC is bisexual, and many of the supporting cast are also LGBTQ+. TW: violence, consent violations/loss of autonomy, stalking, extreme possessiveness/dark romance themes Releases are WEEKLY on Sundays until the story is finished publishing. Note: This story started as a story for the #TheEternalThread2025 writing contest, then continued beyond into a much larger piece after I fell in love the characters. Contests/competitions this story is participating in: * The Purple Fairy Awards 2026 (Romance) * Athena Awards 2026 (Dark Romance) Note: Cover from Canva and/or Ai generated/assisted.

In a world of gods, pirates, and blessings, Phoenix Finch lives in a small coastal town secluded from the rest of the world. In a town that values rules, traditions, and law above all else, Phoenix has never known of anything else. When he is both rescued and kidnapped by the most fearsome pirate of them all, Nico Maheras, The West Wind, he is brought into a world so unlike his own. Scared and alone, he lashes out, and the captain lashes right back. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. As such, this is somewhat unedited, and needs improvement. Constructive criticism is both wanted and appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Cover is mine, made with AutoDesk Sketchbook and BeFunky photo editor. - - - - Content warnings: Kidnapping, Violence, Cursing, Fighting, Torture, Death, mentions of past s*xual assault, and slavery. Please let me know if there's any other warnings that you think should be added! (I swear that makes it sound so much worse than it actually is. This is a lighthearted story about friendship, self discovery, family, and freedom.)
