Jenny Cartwright was the kind of girl everyone in Willow Creek claimed to love-sweet, helpful, always smiling. She was a straight-A student and part of the popular clique at Willow Creek High. But unlike the typical high school queen bee, Jenny never mocked or bullied anyone. She treated everyone with kindness, regardless of their background, social standing, or quirks. She had plenty of friends-and, as far as anyone knew, not a single enemy.

But a week before junior prom, Jenny's body was found in a decaying alley on the edge of town-beaten, bruised, and horrifyingly mutilated. She'd been perfectly fine the day before. So what happened to her? Who could have done this-and why?

Whispers Beneath the Willow

12 parts Ongoing

When two girls disappear from Sanderwood Valley, the whole town goes into panic mode. For Laine, it's worse-because the second girl is her twin sister, Lana. The one everyone loved. The one she could never quite measure up to. The police have no leads. The town wants to forget. But Laine refuses to move on. Armed with her curiosity and her determination to become a detective someday, she starts her own investigation. What she finds isn't what she expected. Lies. Secrets. People she trusted with blood on their hands. Beneath the whispers, the lies, and the shadow of the willow tree where they used to meet, Laine begins to see that everyone is hiding something. And some people will do anything to keep their secrets buried.
