When seven-year-old Aric is abandoned deep in the never-ending-forest, he learns two things:
One: his mother betrayed him.
Two: he can rely on no one but himself.

By the time he stumbles half-dead into Arbed House, Aric has nearly lost all trace of who he once was. But under the care of a warm and watchful dean and surrounded by others, he's given something he never expected: a second chance.

As Aric begins to unravel the meaning of trust, belonging, and softness, a new question rises:
What will he become, now that someone actually cares?
And what of the boy who makes his heart flutter?
