Samantha Parker had always felt broken. She'd blame her anger on her deadbeat father or the bullying she went through it was better than the truth. She was a black hole of time and energy just sucking it all up. She never felt like the people around her until she met Tyler Galpin.
They were both skipping class the day they met. He quickly became the only person who Sam felt actually seen by. But peace never really lasted long in Jericho.
When Tyler starts pulling away and animal attacks sweep through town, Sam knows something's wrong. Then comes Outreach Day, and a brutal fight changes everything. Tyler is sent away, and Sam is left clinging to what little stability she has left.
Now he's back, calmer, different. But just as things start to feel normal again a new girl named Wednesday Addams arrives and with her chaos.
And Sam's world it's about to shatter all over again.

The boy was tall, his face boyish, his stance non-threatening but an air of dread surrounded him nonetheless. He was pretty, objectively. Strong but lithe. He looked up, meeting her eyes. She looked at him impassively, and his eyes darkened as he took her in. Clearly, he saw something that piqued his interest in the same way hers had been piqued. His aura screamed predator but his stance portrayed prey. Interesting. "Oh my God, Wednesday," Enid's shrill voice interrupted her observations, but Wednesday didn't break eye contact with the strange boy. "Don't look at him!" The girl's voice was shaky with fear.
