Alec Merrinson is swept off the streets he was forced onto by the death of his parents and taken to "The Academy". With only a tattered old book as company, he works on learning the art that his parents held dear.
I have absolutely no idea where this is going, it's one of the few stories I've written where I type the first words that come to mind with only a little editing.

The Academy
The Academy is a school for children with abilities. In it, kids and adults of all ages complete their schoolwork. The only way to get out into the real world, however, is to complete ten missions, challenges that the Headmaster thinks up. They're dangerous and often don't end in freedom... Jude is a fourth year student with Superhuman Memory, a practically useless ability compared to others. Unfortunately for her, that means she hasn't even completed one mission, much less the ten that will free her.
