"I-I guess you can't choose your roommate when you apply so late," I say with a nervous laugh, my hand coming up to hold my own arm to comfort myself out of this awkward moment.
One eyebrow quirks up, his smirk still not faltering-if anything, it was growing. "Yeah, I guess that's true. Hopefully you don't mind me bringing girls around here often."
My blood runs cold as his words make their way through my brain. I take a small step back, suddenly feeling my body closing the front door to the unit. Closing off my means of escape from this nightmare. I guess there was always the balcony.
"W-what?"
He takes a few steps closer to me. His eyes were twinkling with amusement.
"Cause you can't choose your roommate, and I ain't going anywhere, roomie."
