Sir Alaeron Steelmourne is a knight with no order, no history, no memories. All he has is the vague recollection of a holy mission to vanquish a terrible evil, but the world he finds himself in now is greatly changed, and evil is everywhere. Skender en-Kasadi is a thief, conman, and all-around scoundrel, and that's just the part people know about. He's done a decent job so far keeping his magic hidden, but it is only a matter of time before he is discovered... and hunted. Both of them are inclined to walk this world alone, but Fate has other plans for them. Forced together by the most unlikely of circumstances, our two heroes find themselves up against a corrupt clergy, a ruthless secret police force, and entirely too many monsters. As they uncover truths surrounding Alaeron's missing past and Skender's uncertain future, they are drawn ever closer to to a dark figure long believed lost, now once more awake and very, very hungry. If they are to survive, they must do so together. That is if they don't kill each other first. UPDATES MONDAY AND THURSDAY

After weeks of traveling, Rhenor and Kaz finally arrive in Sigallah to hopefully meet up with Kaz's friend Elaya. After spending the day in the city, they do eventually manage to find her, though not in a way they expected. But the surprises keep on coming, as to both Rhenor and Kaz's shock, Elaya is now a part of a group of thieves that plans to steal a large sum of money from the dragons. Even though Kaz is horrified and completely against this idea, Rhenor can't help but be intrigued by what is hearing and when asked, he agrees to join in on the plan, despite Kaz's protests. It seems simple, fast, and best of all, it would mean actively taking part in fighting the dragons. But unfortunately, not everything always works out as it should. And as a consequence, Kaz might have to reveal a truth he had been trying so hard to hide all this time. [word count: ≈ 20 000 words]
