At the annual masquerade ball Natasha sits with her family, this including her mother, father, and her brother who has wandered off to chat with his best friend. As Natasha is looking for her brother to have him join them for the dinner portion, she locks eyes with Damien. 

Damien being fierce and dark, comes from a family who has their life surrounded by money and business. Not any kind of business though, not a family cafe or construction company, the mafia. The only people who know about their "business" is the people they are in business with and his best friend, Natasha's brother, Grayson.

Although Damien is dangerous and rude Natasha can't seem to take her eyes off him, even if she hates him. 

Even though Damien is in the mafia, him and Grayson share a house. They've known each other since they were little and always hung out at Damien's house.
