The First True Voyagers
It is the year 2330AD and the Earth is in turmoil. Just over two hundred years ago the third world war ended in a nuclear crescendo. A fiery holocaust that saw the deaths of billions on that fateful day alone, billions more followed in the nuclear winter that came after. Now rampant terrorism and anti-technology death cults wreak terrible havoc all across the great blue jewel of humanity's cradle and the corrupt governments of the world tear at each other's throats for what remains. But there is hope amongst the stars, if only humanity could reach out and touch them. Deep in the bowels of a secret government facility, a remnant of the old world before the bombs fell, a breakthrough is made. Faster than light technology, the first functional warp drive. Gathered from across the globe, the best of humanity is cast into the dark void in search of life and purpose aboard a ship capable of reaching the stars. But the deep dark holds many secrets, humanity may not have been the first and we certainly won't be the last. Danger lurks in the unknown and terrors older than mankind stalk those endless shadows in search of the unwary.
The Virus Within (Original rough draft)
Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Human rights are reserved for humans, right? Maybe wearing one's skin isn't enough to merge into the mortal world. Many of us, variants if you prefer to regard us nicely, otherwise monsters, are born with otherworldly specialties. And those born without it considered us curses to the land while we saw it as superpowers. They call us monsters yet they're the ones hunting us. Till it was me they're hunting down, they locked me in a facility with horrific scientists. The other variants are my allies, the facility, our enemy. The leader of the facility is just another one of us, but he's standing on the opposite side, battling against us. Everyone can lie, but no one can deceive a psychic. Standing before him, you can't hide anything. Your thoughts, your schemes, the psychic hears it all. I, like every other variant locked in this place, dreamed of escaping. Continuous outrageous breakouts just to get recaptured? I need a disparate way, a more intriguing method to sneak myself out of here. Kaysen Hayes, leader of the facility, his job is to keep us all contained. Anyone who dares to escape will come to face him, and he never fails to trick us, put us into defeat. A few variants earned their alliance with the facility, like tamed animals, they'll come to help whenever there's a breakout. When I saw one of those variants, traitorous ideas sprung to my mind. But I need not wait long till the offer comes to me in person. How long until he runs out of tricks? How long does loyalty last? Tricks don't last forever, and so does loyalty. Overlap
I have a secret that I don't share with most. I've been swept up into something bigger than anything I could ever imagine, and now I'm involved with more than just this one world. Our universe is bigger and more amazing than anyone realizes. Reality is merely subjective; we judge it based on what we experience and perceive, even when others do not share the same experiences. When my life turned upside down, I wasn't trying to fall in love; I wasn't trying to get too involved. When my senses all became shared with somebody else, I learned too much to turn away from it all. Her world, so near yet so far away, is something I can experience through her, our senses combined together, our realities overlapped between two places. It's there when my story started. This is our story. It has a beginning, but not an ending. The things that happened to me over all these years would have messed with most people's heads. I put up with all of it, because I couldn't hold back how I felt for her. Little did I know that love comes with a price. As amazing as it is to hear about someone finding their soulmate, it's something that can just as easily tear a person limb to limb, leaving nothing behind but dust. Romance isn't all about walking away in the sweet sunset; it's messy, complex, and downright terrifying at times. My abilities never made any of this easier.Complete

August 14, 3044. It was a future where humans didn't have to advance because technology did all the work for them. A future where children couldn't visit their parents after a certain age and you barely know the route through your own house because your teleporting from the bedroom to the kitchen. A world where you're practically mind controlled. It wasn't always like this. Humans used to have diversity and freedom to think for themselves. But on August 14th, 3044 a new species called the Anoch landed on our planet. The humans immediately categorized them as a threat and split the world into two halves by a stone wall. Humans on one side, Anoch on the other. Everyone seems to have adjusted to this change and go on with life as if everything was normal. But not me. I was only six when it happened. It's now the year 3054 and I still find it all strange. The new life the humans have been forced to live. The way the Anoch are treated as if they're some sort of experiment. And it seems like I'm the only one who cares enough to find the truth. I'm the one who snuck out. And you wouldn't believe what I found behind the wall.Complete

Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.Complete

What if people who were trying to save us a long time ago had a failed experiment, and now those people that were trying to save us are now trying to save only the few, the great mosquito outbreak of 2020 will go down in history as one of the worst tragedies that this world will ever know. The genetically modified mosquitoes did what they were put on earth to do, but they forgot the other half, to die. Instead, the mosquitoes spread the genes to people, slowly eroding the blood cells and killing them, but they aren't really dead, it's a virus. Thoughts who survived started a rebellion, and some are not all human. This book has bitter rivals, but not what you would think, a true love but not with who you think, and a betrayal but one you will never see coming. Beware, and don't get attached to the people you see. Beware the crimson heads and trust no one you hold dear.Complete
