Tobio Kageyama is a very talented setter. But he struggles to communicate with his teammates and others around him. Kageyama eventually pushes his teammates to the edge, and he's left by himself with no one to hit his sets, and he is left all alone.
Kageyama continues to go through a lot of psychological turmoil and self destruction during his remaining time as a third year of junior high. What happens when he goes to the same high school as the orange haired boy he went against in the National Juinor High Volleyball Tournament.

"Hinata, are you limping?" Kageyama yelled from across the gym. Everyone paused in their tracks, surprised by the sudden outburst. Hinata fell over as he was in midair in the middle of practicing one of their quicks. "W-what?" Hinata exclaimed, surprised that Kageyama actually noticed. It wasn't really like him to care anyway.
