during the overtime contingency, helly r. learns that her outie has a daughter and requests a visit. to piss off her father, helena eagan agrees against her better judgment. helly and maeve riggs form an immediate bond, maeve finding solace in this kind, caring fragment of her mother and helly seeing so much of herself in this child she's not supposed to consider her own. helena and helly each see the other as the villain in this story-helena the cold, emotionally neglectful parent and helly the wedge driving maeve and helena further apart-but perhaps the two of them have more in common than they realize.
