Ten years after Katniss Everdeen and her lover, Peeta Mellark, pulled the little nightlock stunt in the seventy-fourth Hunger Games Arena, ten years after the failed rebellion between the rebels and the twisted Panem government, ten years after the Mockingjay took her first flight, Bryony Jade Byrne woke with a start, panting and sweating and wondering why, until she remembered;
Today was Reaping Day in Panem, and the President promised that this year's Games were going to be even worse than the previous years'.
And that was saying a lot, considering the past Games.

Katniss and Peeta have managed to regain the friendship they'd thought they lost, but Katniss is unsure if Peeta is ready to face his old feelings and pursue something more between them.
