IN WHICH. . . riley miller was the kind of girl people liked easily━friendly enough, funny when she wanted to be━she had her mother's charm, and georgia never stopped seeing it in her second-born daughter. riley could be your friend without letting you in. she lived in the dark long enough to recognize when people are pretending to be whole.

OR, IN WHICH. . . abby littman wasn't impressed easily. she didn't like new people. scratch that━abby littman didn't like people, new or old. she liked control, she wasn't exactly known for being warm, and that was fine, preferred even. caring was messy, and abby didn't do messy. but riley miller? she was interesting, and that made abby want to peel her apart a little.
