Zafira was once the heir to a sacred temple in the Easternmost city of Far Harad. A flame-witch destined to lead her people. But when her brother lures her into a deadly duel and shatters their laws, she is cast out and forced to flee across the desert with only her magic and her rage.
Far from home, she is found by Eomer of Rohan, a horse-lord with wary eyes and a wounded heart. In the Golden Hall of Meduseld, Zafira becomes more than just a foreign stranger. She becomes a spark in the shadows, sensing the poison that chokes the King of Rohan,,,and the growing fire between her and the man who brought her north.
