Pete left without a word.
No note. No warning. One day he went out for groceries and never came back.
Years later, Vegas finds him again on a faraway island, alive, smiling, radiant... and completely unaware of who Vegas is.
Pete doesn't remember the love they once shared, the pain they survived, or the promises Vegas never got to fulfill. To Pete, Vegas is just a strange, quiet man with sad eyes who keeps hanging around the edges of his new life.
So Vegas stays. Not as a lover. Not even as a friend with a shared past. Just as someone who quietly endures, content to be near him, even if Pete never remembers who he once was.
Because being forgotten hurts.
But losing Pete all over again would kill him.

It is just a little idea I had for what would happen if Pete couldn't forgive Vegas betraying him and went on his own journey to find a life away from his past. I wanted to see Pete with someone who would never betray him and would treat him with respect. I also want to see Vegas grow and realize his mistake and come to understand that because of his own selfish pride he will have to either move on from the only person he ever truly loved and trusted or love him from a distance forever.
