Everyone thinks the chief's daughter should be perfect.
Straight-A student. Polite. Rule-follower.
But Jade Ramona Hopper is none of that. She breaks rules, not follows them. So when her mom catches her with another girl, Jade gets kicked out and sent straight from New York to the most backwards place imaginable: Hawkins, Indiana.
She hasn't talked to her dad much since Sarah died. Their relationship? Strained at best. But even with the yelling and distance... being in New York made her realize something. She missed him.
Maybe this could be a second chance.
Wrong.
Hawkins is just as bigoted as the city she left-maybe worse. Small-town values. Gossip everywhere. And now she's sharing a house with a strange girl named Eleven who has powers... and maybe a few secrets.
Oh, and there's a creepy lab on the edge of town that nobody talks about.
