Somewhere behind her, the world carried on-street vendors calling out their final orders, tuk-tuks zipping past, couples walking hand-in-hand toward midnight cafés. But in her head? A quiet war raged on. She was losing Becky. Not literally, of course. Becky wasn't moving away. She wasn't disappearing into thin air. Yet, somehow, the reality felt worse. It's a rainy evening in Bangkok. Becky, always buried in her books, walks into her favorite quiet café, hoping for a peaceful evening of reading. The bell above the door jingles as she enters, but today something feels different. Freen, a regular at the café, is sitting at her usual corner, sketching absentmindedly, lost in her thoughts. Becky: under her breath "She always looks so... peaceful." As Becky settles into her corner, her book forgotten for a moment, she feels a pair of eyes on her.
